Sandakan, Sabah – AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (AEON Credit or the Company) officially opened its second Sabah branch for business in Sandakan today, bringing the total number of operating centres in East Malaysia to five. Earlier this year, the Company further established its presence with its Sibu opening. The opening ceremony was officiated by Tuan Haji Mohd Hamsan Haji Awang Supain, Deputy President of Sandakan Municipal Council.
According to Mr. S. Krishnappan, Executive Director of AEON Credit, the new opening is part of the Company’s on-going expansion strategy to establish its foothold in East Malaysia while at the same time catering its services to a steadily growing demand for related services in Sabah.
AEON Credit has been providing consumer financing solutions in the state since 1999. It first launched its general easy payment schemes and operations in Kota Kinabalu, which eventually led to the opening of its first Sabah branch. To-date, the Company has 60 active branches nationwide.
“With the opening of the Sandakan branch, AEON Credit is expected to see growth in its Sabah market share for services involving consumer durable financing along with other financing schemes for Mopeds, Superbikes, cars, personal financing scheme and issuance of credit cards. At the same time the Company looks to strengthening its local support for retail merchants offering AEON Credit’s easy payment schemes for vehicle financing and purchase of consumer goods as well as to provide customer service and ATM services.
Other than offering consumer financing solutions, AEON Credit is also committed to grow with the local community and support economic activities via its equipment, machinery and vehicle financing to businesses, especially for SMEs in Sandakan,” said Mr. Krishnappan He further expressed confidence in Sandakan’s potential to become a strategic business centre for the Company in the long term.
The Company has also organised a two day Fair that includes interactive activities such as Xbox console game station, puzzles and marble picking. The Fair is open to the public and offers many attractive prizes.
Popular local merchants have set up booths showcasing the latest consumer durables, furniture, superbikes and cars for sale under AEON Credit’s attractive financing schemes. As a value added proposition, merchants will be offering interested buyers with special offers, free gifts and cash rebates at the fair.
